Surprised and excited to see a new chip coming! Looks very interesting! Finaly it seems capable of synchronised ganging of several dsps, and daisy chaining digital audio buses in between them. I assume 12MHz clock may mean now will be 256 instructions/sample. And linear RAM (though still not 20bit, ...

Ah, ok, I finaly managed to find photos of the internals of Akira (it's harder to find anything on my harddrives then to find it in internet). I totaly forgot that Akira has two DSPs - both 3201 and 3102, so no wonder how it can easily do 40 band vocoder and relatively long delay effects at thte sam...

Shanin: Spin outputs 0000 for the don't care bits. The actual sequence of FV1 loading from some program slot looks this way: Start 1010000 0/W 1/A 00000010 1/A 00000000 1/A Start 1010000 1/R 1/A ZZZZZZZZ 0/A repeats to load entire program. Of course, all 1 can be considered Z, but it's easier to rea...

I am curious about the fact, that wavefront dsp chip and FV-1 are in some regards somewhat similar (and probably have a comparable performance, too), and there are interesting vocoder programs in AKIRA and other units (airfx) featuring wavefront's chip. So I wonder if something similar may be writte...
