Possibly use two shifters

Heya, I read your post a while back and had a thought... Since the FV-1 can easily run two pitch scalers at the same time, perhaps you could simultaneously run one with a small buffer and one with a large buffer. That way you'll get a shorter delay on the small buffer. That will make transients soun...

Stomp Switch wiring preferences? [OT]

Hey folks, I know this might be potentially Off-Topic, so please attack me with a swarm of bees if you want, but I was wondering - if you make a guitar stompbox out of an FV-1 and it runs on a 9V battery, what are your configuration preferences are for the line-in plug switch and the stomp switch? I...

To be clear - I think this chip would be great for Karplus-Strong itself -- - It has excellent register-level support for buffer manipulation. One could probably handle numerous voices and/or do interesting linear/non-linear things with each delay line. Tracking the analog keyboard though isn't some...

modding devices with FV-1s in them

Hey, that's a cool idea, to find devices that use the FV-1 and put whatever program you like in them!

I noticed there's a dual-ipod mixer out there from Radio shack that uses the FV-1.... That could a fun platform, too :)

Believe it or not, pitch-shifting is one of the hardest algorithms around. There are dozens of ways to do it. Usually, the challenges are 1. quality, 2. delay, 3. minimum of processing power. Also, algorithms vary depending on whether the material is speech, music, or other. In workstation software ...

Thank you for the feedback, Fulcrum! I would like to make more videos with other effects. Any requests in particular? One way might be to do one reverb, one distortion, one echo, one phaser, one pitch shifter, etc. p.s. I bought a better microphone, too, so future vids will have better sound quality...

Demo Video of Programming the FV-1

Hey everyone!

I made an introduction video to programming the FV-1!

I show my basic setup with a guitar, laptop, amplifier and FV-1.

You can see how I custom-modded my FV-1 a little bit... !
