Re: Mid Reference Capacitor
"Any improvements using larger caps?" I don't think so. I think that manufacturers often simplify their logistics and stock many e.g. capacitors of the same value. Another example: there are sometimes strange values of resistors on commercial schematics. I suspect that banana counters pres...

Re: Mid Reference Capacitor
@ smear "do they use the same larger values for REFP?"
Yes, 22 uF both for MID and REFP.

Re: Mid Reference Capacitor
You can find even 22 uF in some commercial products. The 4.7 uF tantalum is available in 0603 case.

Re: Mid Reference Capacitor
High capacitance C0G capacitors in small (0805) cases are actually available only up to 47 nF and relatively expensive.
I would suggest to use tantalum capacitors instead, like TMCJ1A475MTRF in 0603 case from Vishay/Sprague, offered by e.g. Mouser.

Re: Mid Reference Capacitor
Frank explained that "pin is part of the reference for the internal CODECs". I fear that modulation of this pin voltage can have an effect on conversion results of ADCs and DACs. Let's wait for Frank's opinion.

Re: Mid Reference Capacitor
I would be careful with MLCC as most of them, except C0G (NP0), are microphonic. A problem if you design an effect to be mounted in combo amp.
There are solid tantalum capacitors in 0603 case, like TMCJ1A475MTRF from Vishay/Sprague, offered by Mouser.

Re: Problem with POT as program selector
Thank you. What kind of filtering do you mean? An extra cap at POT pin? Could you please give an example of pot hysteresis code?

Problem with POT as program selector
Hi Frank, I use the POT1 to select the branch of the FV-1 program. The part of the code looks as follows: RDAX POT1 , 1 SOF 1 , -0.2 SKP NEG, A SOF 1 , -0.2 SKP NEG, B SOF 1 , -0.2 SKP NEG, C SOF 1 , -0.2 SKP NEG, D E: code5 SKP 0, OUTPUT A: code1 SKP 0, OUTPUT B: code2 SKP 0, OUTPUT C: code3 SKP 0,...

Thank you. It looks they are indeed the "portable mixer" set (oem1.zip).

Summing both outputs with resistors
Dear Frank, Some FV-1 users sum the both analog output voltages with two 1k resistors. Just one lead of the 1st resistor to the L output, one lead of the 2nd resistor to the R output. The both resistors ends are soldered together and go through a DC blocking capacitor to the input of an non-invertin...

Memory declarations in merged programs
Hi Frank, I have two groups of effects performed by one FV-1. The first group uses the left channel, the second the right channel of the FV-1. Each of the two group has 5 effects to select. Let's denote them by L1...L5 and R1...R5. Only one effect from the 5 of the each group can be selected, but tw...
