Is it possible to adjust the behavior constants of the envelope generator?

As the subject says.

I use SPIN CAD primarily for idea sketching. I'm looking to gain greater control over the envelope generation. I'm looking to use the pots to adjust the attack, release, and decay, but I would like to be able to program the range of each one in milliseconds.

Any suggestions?

Re: Some things I've learned about the FV-1

Thank you for the useful advices but i've a doubt about the separate power supply. What's the point of doing that knowing that there is no dedicated AGND and DGND on the FV1? The return current would be on a single ground plane. Usually we separate analog and digital ground but in the FV1 case,it's...

Re: Some things I've learned about the FV-1

i gave the AP2205-33Y LDO a shot, and i can't hear any difference, but to be fair i'm not using proper test equipment. i'll try the LM431 as a shunt regulator next. but i do wonder if having separate analog and digital supplies was a lot more significant than the specific part used? Those are decen...

Re: Some things I've learned about the FV-1

i really appreciate you posting all of these thoughts, thank you!! now i feel a bit silly for always using a 78Lxx regulator just because all the boutique builders do  For most applications that part is fine. But I've grown used to avoiding it for anything that has a delta sigma converter or...

Re: Some things I've learned about the FV-1

My apologies, I've been traveling a lot this summer and haven't been on this board. Are you here suggesting using separate LDOs for the analog and digital power supply pins on the FV1 chip? If so would you consider the REFP (Positive Reference) as part of the analog or digital power? I feel the data...

Re: Some things I've learned about the FV-1

Thanks for the info, what do you think about the LM1117? Good question. I have not tried that particular part, but looking at the datasheet I think it might be fantastic for an analog circuit. It has pretty high output current capacity compared to the requirements of the FV-1. Typically these kinds...

Some things I've learned about the FV-1

OK, I typed up this LONG response, and in the process the board logged me out, and I lost the whole thing. So this is my second and last attempt. I've been asked to post some things about my research/dev with the FV-1. A little about myself. I've worked with delta sigma converters for the las...

Re: Mid Reference Capacitor

Interesting discussion. I've been using 85 c 1uf electrolytics in my design for the ref and mid caps. I haven't seen any issues with ADC or DAC conversion. This is OT, but I managed to get the chip's noise performance below -100dB unweighted. I won't say exactly how low, but I will say that I don't ...

Re: Troubleshooting eeprom program failure

Thanks, that was the issue. I was running the eeprom in write protect mode and didn't even notice.

Troubleshooting eeprom program failure

Hello all. After several weeks of interruption and a new pcb design spun, Ive finally gotten the opportunity to get back to the FV1 design. Unfortunately I’m having a bit of trouble programming my 24LC32A. I generated hex files using SpinIDE. I’m running PICkit 2’s connections as: pin 3 to gnd, pin ...

Re: Power up sequence?

Analog chain works but FV-1 doesn't pass audio. I don't know if it's the part or if the XO isn't oscillating. My troubleshooting is complicated by the fact that we recently moved to a new house, and all my test gear is packed in various boxes. It took me all week to locate my oscilloscope, but I can...

Re: Power up sequence?

I read DC on the control pins about 1.65v with the three external pots set at halfway point. In the prior reading the pots were set to nearly max open or closed, which is why those pins read the way they do. Unfortunately I only have one FV1; this is rather foolish of me I realize. I picked up one f...

Re: Power up sequence?

Guys I really appreciate the help. Hopefully I can be as helpful in the future as people on this forum have been to me. I think I've solved the issue (hopefully). I found a tiny solder blob shorting across XO's. I inadvertently had an over voltage condition to the FV1 for about 45 seconds so I'm sur...

Re: Power up sequence?

I've switched from the dual 100ma LDO's to a beefier LDO, the AMS1117, set up for a 3.3v output. Unloaded I get 3.3vdc as expected. When connected to the FV1 I get sag, but not as much. I get about 2.5vdc. It's worth noting that nothing runs unusually warm when power is hooked up to the FV1, everyth...

Re: Power up sequence?

Hmm, there's no change. Both 3.3v rails sag down to 1v once they're connected to the FV1. No other (analog supply) rails are affected.
