Re: Reading pots noise
I have noticed in your PCB pictures that you have cut off the pot mounting solder tabs and placed foam pads under the pots to hold them in position, while this may or may not be a problem the solder tabs are electrically connected to the pot shaft and provide shielding and really should be soldered ...

Re: File .HEX Will be installed at which?
Well lets see, the program selection uses 3 bit binary code on the S0-S2 pins to select 1 of the 8 programs. So if program 0 has a binary code of 000 then you can work out what the next program would be ? Well I can tell you that would mean program 1 would be 001. I'm sure you can work out the rest ...

Re: Pot and program selection pins max current ??
You may need to check that the voltage is in range as well, if using a micro like the Arduino at 5v you will need to allow for 3.3v for S0-S2 and for the pot inputs you\may need to add PWM filtering.

Re: Delay tails and 4049 clock
Thanks for you reply, but all of that has gone over my head. Could you please explain in a little more detail? igorp explained it perfectly. 1. Tails means that the input to the delay line should be disconnected (bypass footswitch) but the output of the delay stays connected to allow the echo tails...

Re: Reverberation pedal
Hello Forthan, My first suggestion would be to download some of the Spin reverb code examples which have many comments in the code as to what the each section of code does. This can then be looked upon as building blocks of each piece of code and much easier to understand as little sections. Also re...

Re: FV-1 out of stock
There was a production issue at a sub-contractor, it has been resolved but it went on longer than the buffer stock we keep for such things. So production is going but there is a gap in the pipeline that will take some weeks to fill. Just came here to say this, I message profusion yesterday and they...

Re: FV-1 out of stock
Hi Jack, My supplier still has them in stock and listed as present, so that would mean they still are in production but they only have a handful in stock which is unusual. I'm a little concerned though as when I have just checked, and my UK supplier has once again raised the price. The price has dou...

Re: Hardware designing guide
Yes, the floor noise is mainly hiss, also depending on the coding. I changed from inverting to non-inverting opamps buffers with great results, but there's still plenty hiss around Yes using non-inverting op amp sections does lower the noise in the analogue audio path over inverting op amps, I use ...

Re: Hardware designing guide
Hi Sweettalk, I too am trying to lower the noise floor which is mainly too much hiss in my case which I have also noticed on many commercial pedals that I have tested as well, is this the same as yourself ? I use the 10uf pin 3 and pin 26, The main Spin FV-1 datasheet shows the use of 1uf but the da...

Re: SPN1001-DEV OFFLINE
Yes or no thanks A quick look at the picture of the programmer you have shown I would say yes it can program a 24 series EEprom but you will have tolearn how to use the software that programmer uses. Surely you got (or will get) some paperwork and software with it, I can't answer fully your questio...

Re: How to test FV-1 IC before soldering?
I hand solder the majority of FV-1 IC's I use and have had very few failures in well over 1000 units. There are a couple of areas I would look out for when hand soldering and the first is use a good No-Clean solder flux pen (not a water based). The second think to note is, if you are not buying from...

Re: 2 xFV-1 considerations ?
Try it now, I've updated the permissions on the images... Sorry, I haven't used S3 for a while and they lock down things differently... Both EPROMS have no connection to the write protect pin, should be either ground or +V but that should not effect the switching. Check that your switching is actua...

Re: 2 xFV-1 considerations ?
The eeprom switching will be done using one selector so when for example program '0' is selected both FV-1's will receive there own (different) code from there respective Eeprom. Did you ever get this working? I made a board which does this (one rotary switches two FV-1s, but it only switches four ...
