Measuring input signal

Post by Markus »

I need an idea to measure input signal (without an osciloscope  ). It would be great to measure RMS value of the signal and to generate let's say sinus signal on one of the outputs. The signal would be measured with a simple multimeter. Does it make sense?
I need to to find out what is the signal level in an effect loop in a specific amp (to be able to optimise the signal level).

Well, you should be able to make an RMS measurement of the input then generate a sin wave where the amplitude is controlled by the RMS result. Some of the compressor example code has RMS calculation in it.

You would probably want to generate your own sin wave rather than use the chorus LFO since it will probably be too low a frequency.
