Hello,

I just got my SPN1001 from profusion.
The price dropped quite a bit (now ~€74 net).

One issue I experience is excessive noise when connecting the board to my POD 2. I mean really bad intermittent noise.
With my stereo the dev board was fine.

What is the connection order of all devices involved? You may need to add buffering to the input or output of the dev board or POD 2 to make sure that everything is good.

The order is:

guitar -> Fet buffer/Splitter ->L in SPN1001 L out -> POD 2 => headphone
---> noise
and

guitar -> Fet buffer/Splitter =>L in + R in SPN1001 L out + R out => hifi amp => headphone
---> no noise

I didn't try a buffer after the SPN1001 yet.

guitar -> Fet buffer/Splitter ->L in SPN1001 L out -> POD 2 => headphone
--------------------------------->R in SPN1001 R out -> hifi amp => headphone
---> noise in the POD, no noise in the amp

guitar -> Fet buffer/Splitter -> POD 2 => headphone and
guitar -> POD 2 => headphone
---> no noise

So quite clearly the noise is created by the interaction between POD and SPN.
There is no change, when using 9V instead of USB and neither when disconnecting USB completely

I don't know the input circuit of a POD 2 but by looking at the user manual on line it seems to expect a high impedance device like a guitar driving it and the dev board is a low impedance output. Try a small buffer between the dev out/POD in and see if that helps.
