I2C EEPROM Programming - in circuit

I see that the GA_DEMO and Mixer demo boards have program pins installed on SDA and SCK of the FV-1. What are you guys using to program in circuit? I've just been using the socket on the dev board and then popping the EEPROM on the finished board, but I'd like to go to SMD EEPROMS.

Thanks,

You basically have 2 easy options:

Use one of those 8-pin headers that you can put parts on (similar to http://www.precicontact.ch/uw%20sw%20w%20scket.htm) and solder wires and a 3-pin adapter to it to so it plugs in to the socket in place of the EEPROM and use the development board as the programmer.

Any programmer that can program the EEPROM and make a similar adapter.

Thanks, Frank. I'll just put a 3-pin header in the perfboard area of the dev board and run wires to the socket, that's even easier. Does the I2C need 3.3V during programming (ie will I need to have the target board powered on?)

Thanks,

Typically yes, you need to supply power to the target device.
