"Side by side" error launching Spin IDE/Windows 7

To be clear, it is the 64 bit version of the OS.
Tried following the instructions given here:

However the version # for "Default" in the registry is already at the highest version, which is: 9.0.30729.6161.
I noticed Spin IDE is trying to install the Visual C++ 2005 redistributable, however my Windows control panel installed programs references the 2008 version with the # shown above. The 2005 version is not installed.
Gonna try uninstall/reinstall and see what happens.
