I have a difficult question. Is it possible to detect input signal tempo (let's say a guitar plays quarter notes) and use this tempo as a parameter for an effect (e.g. chorus or delay)? This could be an additional, "virtual" potentiometer to be used with FV-1.

Beat detection is a rather detailed process, don't think the FV-1 has the power to really pull it off reasonably. For a basic description, see:
