SIN LFO frequency shift

Post by Aaron »

Is there a formula for calculating the frequency shift per delay sample when using the CHO command for chorus/vibrato?

If I understand your question correctly then it would simply be F/Fs where F is the LFO frequency and Fs is the sample rate you are running at. So 10Hz LFO @ 48KHz sample rate is 1/4800 of a sin wave per sample period or (1/4800)*360 = 0.075 degrees per sample

Let me rephrase the question like this:

What is the correlation to sin_range and the amount of pitch shift that takes place? I am wanting to implement a specific range of detuning. AN-0001 does not seem to cover this.

Well, it would be a function of both range and rate. We've never calculated this but you should be able to, if you know the range you are covering and the rate you are doing it at you should be able to calculate the pitch shift as the sin wave crosses 0 which will be the maximum rate of change.
