I searched the datasheet and there is no reference to the power consumption.

What is the typical power consumption when running at 32kHz?

Hmmm, it should be (opens datasheet...) Yeah, page 3 "Maximum power dissipation" is 300mW. Lower table on same page give you min/typ/max currents.

No reason to be embarrassed, we all over look details in data sheets. It's part of engineering, lots of data to look at during the design process.
