Implement Adjustable Crossover?

Hello all, I'm playing with an idea in my head to split audio into high and low frequencies, like a speaker crossover, but have it adjustable so that turning a POT would change the crossover frequency. I'm not sure how possible that is in DSP in general or FV-1 specifically. The idea is that I could then add different audio effects to each channel. So in the FV-1 I'd be hoping to be able to use only one of the inputs, but the two outputs are used, one for the higher frequencies and the other for the lower frequencies. I think the POT to set the frequency might be the weak link in the chain.

I'm just brain storming this at the moment so just wonder if it's at all feasible or if I should be looking at a whole lot of OpAmps on a circuit board.

Thanks for advice.

Two ideas off the top of my head:

1. An HP and LP filter both using the same POT to control cutoff. Simple 1-pole IIR filters should work see http://www.spinsemi.com/knowledge_base/ ... le_filters

2. A state variable filter see http://www.spinsemi.com/knowledge_base/ ... ng_filters which give Q control as well

Thank you for that. I'll try this out, but as always there are too many projects.
